Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Dharshan Zwislang Trust - M.A.D ("M.A.D", "we", "our", or "us") provides meditation, awareness, events, bookings, volunteer, and notification features through the M.A.D app. This Privacy Policy explains how we access, collect, use, share, secure, retain, and delete information when you use the app and related services.

2. Information We Collect

• Account and Profile Information: Name, email address, phone number, profile image, authentication provider, account identifier, and account role. If you use Google Sign-In, Google provides the profile information you authorise it to share. We do not receive your Google password.
• Event Registrations and Bookings: Name, email address, mobile number, organisation name, a location you type into a form, selected event or session, and related date and time information. The app does not use this field to collect precise GPS location.
• App Activity and Preferences: Joined-event status, reminders, quote likes, practice progress, theme preferences, last-open dates, and identifiers used to remember these choices.
• Device and Notification Information: Firebase Cloud Messaging token, a generated device identifier, platform type, token timestamps, and notification preferences.
• Technical Information: Our service providers may automatically process IP address, device model, operating system, app version, request timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs when you connect to the service.
• Content and Communications: Information you submit through authorised administration or volunteer features, and the content of support, privacy, or deletion enquiries.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create, authenticate, secure, and administer user accounts
• Provide meditation, event, booking, reminder, and volunteer features
• Personalise app content and remember user preferences
• Send service messages and push notifications requested or enabled by users
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the app and its users
• Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our legal rights

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising. We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

• Google Firebase: For authentication, cloud database, file storage, hosting, and push-notification delivery
• Google Sign-In: For authentication when you choose Google as your sign-in method
• YouTube and Linked Services: When you choose to view externally hosted content, the provider may process technical information under its own privacy policy
• Authorised M.A.D Administrators and Event Organisers: Where access is needed to administer accounts, registrations, bookings, events, volunteers, or support requests
• Legal and Safety Disclosures: Where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted network connections, Firebase authentication, role-based database access controls, and restricted administrative access. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the service, or to meet a legal or security obligation. Our retention practices are:

• Account and Profile Information: Retained while the account is active. After a verified deletion request, it is removed from active systems within 30 days unless limited retention is legally required.
• Event Registrations and Bookings: Retained while needed to organise and follow up on the event or booking, ordinarily for no more than 12 months after it ends. It is deleted sooner when a valid deletion request applies, unless retention is legally required.
• Notification Tokens and Device Identifiers: Retained while needed to deliver notifications or maintain the account. They are removed when no longer valid or within 30 days after an applicable deletion request.
• Preferences Stored Only on the Device: Retained until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
• Support and Deletion-Request Records: Retained for up to 24 months after the request is closed to document our response and protect against abuse.

Residual copies may remain temporarily in access-controlled backups until overwritten through the service provider's normal backup cycle. Information required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security is isolated and retained only for the required period. De-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify a user may be retained for service reporting and improvement.

7. Account and Data Deletion

Users can initiate account deletion in the M.A.D app under Menu > Settings > Delete Account, or submit a request by emailing info@dzect.in or zwislang@gmail.com from the email address associated with the account. Never send us your password.

After verifying the request, we delete or de-identify the authentication account, profile, notification tokens, event registrations, bookings, reminders, and other personal information associated with the account, subject to the limited retention exceptions described above. Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days. Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete an account.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your personal information. You may disable notifications in your device settings and clear locally stored preferences through your device's app settings. We may need to verify that a privacy request relates to you.

9. Children's Privacy

The app is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without the involvement and consent required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.

Account Deletion

Delete your M.A.D account in the app or submit a deletion request from the web. There is no fee for requesting deletion.

1. Sign in to the M.A.D app
2. Open Menu > Settings > Delete Account
3. Confirm your identity and follow the on-screen instructions

Submit a deletion request from the web

Email info@dzect.in or zwislang@gmail.com from the email address associated with your M.A.D account. Include your account email address and use M.A.D account deletion request as the subject. Never include your password.

What is deleted

After verification, we delete or de-identify your M.A.D authentication account, profile, notification tokens, event registrations, bookings, reminders, and other personal information that is no longer required. Verified requests are completed within 30 days.

Limited information may be retained where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security. Residual backup copies are removed through our service providers' normal backup cycle. See Data Retention above for details.
